Promoting Excellence in Online Education

Over the past several decades, technology has become increasingly embedded in all levels of education, both in classrooms and in online learning environments. While a range of perspectives on the relationship between technology and education coexist, a definite trend toward adopting technology to achieve educational objectives can be discerned. Yet, despite promises of more personalized learning, enhanced engagement, broader and more equitable access, and stronger collaborative and social learning, technology’s impact on education consistently has been found to be uneven, yielding mixed results.

The introduction of any technology needs to be carefully assessed considering the broad goals of education. Drawing on nearly 20 years of experience in online education, we are collaborating with educators, learners, and local communities to explore how technology can be meaningfully integrated into educational frameworks, guided by sound pedagogical principles.
