Online Course Offerings
We view our courses as a part of an ongoing conversation with a growing number of people who are working in a mode of learning to contribute to processes of social development, ones in which the material and spiritual dimensions of human life advance together.
The course content is presented in a conversational manner that we hope is inviting and enables a growing number of people with a wide range of experience to participate in this discussion and contribute to a process of learning in action.
Learning Through Technology
Learning Through Technology aims to provide participants with a foundation for offering educational content online to students at a distance. It will be of interest to administrators and teachers who are offering educational content online. The course unfolds in three chapters, each of which is offered separately. The first chapter considers the subject of technology, the second explores pedagogical principles foundational to any educational endeavor, and the third examines in depth the theory and practice of online education and outlines sound approaches to instructional design and online delivery.
Next Offering: 17 to 28 July 2025
The first chapter of Learning Through Technology explores several characteristics of technology and raises questions about the direction of innovation. It aims to help participants reflect on their attitude toward technology and to help identify some concepts and initial insights that can help participants advance in their understanding of innovation and to strengthening capacity for technological decision-making. It will be of interest to all those concerned with the direction and impact of technological development.
The course takes place over a 12-day period, beginning on Thursday, 17 July and concluding the following Monday, 28 July. The study is designed around a cohort model. While personal study and reflection are required, learning happens through discussion and collaboration with others taking the course. The three group calls are at the heart of the experience, where ideas are explored and developed with the participation of all. The calls take place on Saturday, 19 July, Saturday 26 July and Sunday 27 July at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (New York).
